Damage to definitive lists is a problem indeed, but making lists lockable creates the following new problems:
- Who gets to decide when a list is locked?
- What if that (those) person(s) lock(s) a list in error?
- What happens to lists that are ongoing and ever-changing, thus inappropriate to be locked at all?
